Last week, the final of the Davis Cup was disputed. The two challenging teams were Spain (the host) and Czech Republic (that was playing at home). This final was an opportunity for Spain to make history, by winning a fourth Davis Cup in 5 years. However, after the great performance of David Ferrer that beat the number one Czech Republican, Thomas Berdich; it was the turn of Nicolas Almagro to play against Radeck Stepanek. They played a long and decisive match (as they were 2-2) but finally Radeck managed to win the match, thus the Davis Cup, beating Almagro in four sets by 6-4 7-6 3-6 6-3. So this year Spain couldn’t make history but there will be more years and we will see if Spain will manage to make history in the next years.

In the picture we can see the Czech team with their manager holding the Davis Cup.
