My Dreams

Dear Sònia,

I actually wanted to tell you about my dreams, I don't know if you are very familiar with the dreams of other people but mine is this one:

I love tennis and any sport that it is individual such as running a marathon, a triathlon or even skiing, because it takes out of you the soul of the auto evaluation and you have to be very focused and hardworking to succeed in one of these sports. My dream would be to never give up in these competitions and be lucky to do not get injured. I don’t want to become professional, I only love doing sport and prove myself. Where can I go? Which are my limits? Those are the questions I need to answer and as long as I can keep doing sport, for my pleasure, I will be able to take out the frustration of my body and I will feel like a leaf in the air.
However, I would like to keep going with my studies so I can graduate with my friends of a career that I don’t know yet (I mean that I haven’t made a choice of what do I want to study).

So I have applied to get a schoolarship abroad in the United States, where I will be able to convalidate my tennis with the studies and I have a good new: The agency that will help me to get that schoolarship has told me that I have many possibilities to get one.

Thank you very much for listening to me and take care,

3:10 to Yuma

3:10 to Yuma is a film that I have seen this weekend and I really liked. It happens in the “Cowboy” time and it is about the love between a dad and his son and how it goes stronger thanks to a prisoner called Ben Wade. Ben Wade is a murderer that has been captured and Dan Evans with other people wanted to take him to the prison in Yuma. But it won’t be an easy task because of the son of Dan Evans, William Evans, will follow his father on the trip and Ben Wade will escape and will be helped by his followers.
This film has been rated in Imdb with a 7.8 which is a great mark because the highest one is 9.2 and there are many known actors as Russell Crowe (as Ben Wade) and Christian Bale (as Dan Evans).

Last week, the final of the Davis Cup was disputed. The two challenging teams were Spain (the host) and Czech Republic (that was playing at home). This final was an opportunity for Spain to make history, by winning a fourth Davis Cup in 5 years. However, after the great performance of David Ferrer that beat the number one Czech Republican, Thomas Berdich; it was the turn of Nicolas Almagro to play against Radeck Stepanek. They played a long and decisive match (as they were 2-2) but finally Radeck managed to win the match, thus the Davis Cup, beating Almagro in four sets by 6-4 7-6 3-6 6-3. So this year Spain couldn’t make history but there will be more years and we will see if Spain will manage to make history in the next years.

In the picture we can see the Czech team with their manager holding the Davis Cup.

Nadal is trainning again

Rafael Nadal: Competitive comeback in the Gulf
Nadal has told that he is training again in full conditions, what is a great new as he had to stop due to his injury. Right now he is preparing himself to a three man exhibition event in Abu Dhabi. However, hi is planning to come back competitively for the Qatar Open the latest of December. Nadal, whose world ranking has gone down until nº4, said: “I am making progress and I hope to continue to do so.” He was nº2 before the injury and he is actually classed nº4; only 200 points away from the fifth one, his friend David Ferrer. If he really wants to get back and recover his position, he will have to fight a lot and do not give up.

The new Assassin's Creed

Assassin’s Creed is a new game that went on sale last 30th of October. It is the third game of a complex trilogy where a guy from the future is introduced in a machine that makes him revive the scenes of his antecedents. On this trip he notices that the world is divided in two creeds: The Assassins and The Templars. All his predecessors were Assassins and now he starts being a prisoner of the Templars. So he escapes from the Templars and now he is trying to pacify the world with the help and knowledge of his forefathers.

It got some formidable criticisms until now. For example, the page of videogames has given it a 89 out of a 100; and the site of 3Dgames gave it a 9.7 out of a 10.

Sebastian's Vettel third F1 Title.

The Brazilian prize of F1 (done this afternoon at Interlagos) has certified the win of the third consecutive prize for Sebastian Vettel. That race was decisive because it was one of the last ones and anything could have happened (the adrenaline of the last race, the pressure of your opponent, and the high speed of the car were the main factors that could have changed destiny). However, even that Alonso ended second and Vettel sixth the difference wasn’t enough for Alonso to keep challenging for the prize. Vettel, perhaps, did a fabulous performance! He had an accident at the start of the race so he found himself at the last position on the first lap. But he managed perfectly and finished in the sixth position what gave him his third consecutive F1 prize.

The national elections of Catalonia

Catalonia had this weekend the national elections, and with absolute majority the CiU has won the elections. The main objective of the CiU is to be independent from Spain. A lot of people say that Catalonia has always wanted to be independent but they never succeed. That is true. But we must say that this time can be different. Never before has been seen so many people in the streets of Barcelona the day of the “Diada per Catalunya”. So it must be true that the feeling of independence has been awaken in a lot of Catalan people (people that wasn’t before independent but the conditions right now had made their mind up) and it is true that it might be a very difficult moment. However thinks always get darker before they get bright and shiny.

The brightest supernova of history

An investigation, where the CISC (Superior Counseil of Cientific Investigation) took part on it, discovered the start of what they consider "the brightest stellar event we had been able to contemplate from earth", the supernova SN1006 that exploted 7000 light year from here. The study reveals the the light that came out from the explosion is a fourth part from the moon's bright and because of that the SN1006 has been seen, in some parts of the earth, along three years!
Chinese and Arab astronomers provide the most complete historical descriptions of this supernova. The Egyptian Arabic astrologer and astronomer Ali ibn Ridwan wrote that the spectacle was 3 times larger than the size of Venus. Even in Switzerland that was in a bad position to see it saw the event all along three or four hours. It was so much powerful that the astronomer Frank Winkler said that you could have read a manuscript at midnight with the light of the .
